Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Laketrout Technologies Inc. (“Laketrout,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit our website, request a demo, or use our website-and-dashboard service (the “Service”).
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Demo and contact requests: your name, business name, trade/industry, and the phone number or email you provide when you ask for a demo or contact us.
- Account and billing information: if you become a customer, the business and contact details needed to set up and operate your Service, and the information required to process payments.
- Content you add to the dashboard: information you or your staff enter, such as services, prices, schedules, and notes.
Information from your customers (processed on your behalf)
- When you use the Service, your own customers may submit bookings, orders, quote requests, reviews, or messages. That information (for example a name, phone number, email, or appointment details) is stored in your dashboard. We process it on your behalf as a service provider; you are responsible for how you collect and use it.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and device data: basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and referring pages, collected through standard server logs and our hosting provider.
- Local storage: our sites and app store small amounts of data in your browser (for example your language and style preferences, or demo data in our product demos). Interactive product demos run entirely in your browser and are not sent to us.
2. Payment information
Payments are processed by Stripe. When you pay Laketrout, your card details are collected and processed directly by Stripe under its own privacy policy. We do not store your full card number. We may receive limited transaction information from Stripe (such as the last four digits of a card, payment status, and amount) to manage your account and provide receipts and support.
3. How we use information
- To respond to demo requests and communicate with you.
- To provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
- To set up your website and dashboard and to configure payment links and billing.
- To process payments, send invoices and receipts, and prevent fraud.
- To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- To send service-related communications, and (with your consent, where required) occasional updates about Laketrout. You can opt out of non-essential messages at any time.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to run the Service:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf, including Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (hosting, content delivery, and security), and form/email delivery providers used to relay contact and demo requests.
- Professional advisors such as accountants and lawyers, where necessary.
- Legal and safety reasons: to comply with applicable law, respond to lawful requests, or protect the rights, property, and safety of Laketrout, our customers, or others.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and browser local storage for essential functions (such as remembering preferences and keeping the Service secure) and for basic analytics to understand how our sites are used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the sites work.
6. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business or legal purposes, after which we delete or anonymize it. If you are a customer, we retain your dashboard data for the life of your account and for a reasonable period afterward, unless you ask us to delete it sooner and we are not required to keep it.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including reputable infrastructure providers and encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International transfers
Our providers may process and store information in countries outside Canada, including the United States. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in accordance with applicable law.
9. Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law (including Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, PIPEDA), you may have the right to access, correct, update, or delete your personal information, to withdraw consent, and to ask questions about our handling of your information. To exercise these rights, email privacy@laketrouthq.com. If your personal information is held in a Laketrout customer’s dashboard, please contact that business directly; we will assist them as their service provider.
10. Children’s privacy
The Service is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Third-party links
Our sites may link to third-party websites and services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to review their policies.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes may be communicated to customers directly.
