Terms of Service

Last updated: August 24, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the websites, dashboard, and related services (the “Service”) provided by Laketrout Technologies Inc. (“Laketrout,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the Service or purchasing a subscription, you agree to these Terms.

Summary (not a substitute for the full text): Laketrout builds and hosts a website and business dashboard for your business on a subscription, plus an optional setup fee. You own your business data; we operate the Service and process payments through Stripe. You can cancel; some fees are non-refundable. The Service is provided on a commercially reasonable basis with the limits described below.

1. The Service

Laketrout provides a hosted website and an all-in-one dashboard for local businesses, which may include online bookings, quotes, orders, messaging, reviews, and customer management, along with related setup and support. Features may vary by plan and may change over time as we improve the Service.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least the age of majority in your province or territory and able to enter into a binding contract. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for any activity that occurs under your account, and for keeping your credentials secure. You must notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

3. Fees, billing, and payment

4. Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and the Service continues until then. Unless required by law or expressly agreed in writing, subscription fees already paid and one-time setup fees are non-refundable. We may offer a refund or credit at our discretion.

5. Your content and data

As between you and Laketrout, you own the business and customer information you add to the Service (“Your Data”). You grant us a limited licence to host, process, and use Your Data solely to provide and improve the Service and as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for Your Data and for having the necessary rights and consents to collect and use the personal information of your own customers, and for complying with applicable privacy and marketing laws (including obtaining consent for messages you send through the Service).

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

7. Intellectual property

Laketrout and its licensors own the Service, including its software, design, and trademarks. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service during your subscription. The website we build and deliver for your business, together with Your Data, is yours; the underlying platform, templates, and code that power the Service remain ours.

8. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties such as Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (hosting and delivery), and messaging/email providers. Your use of those features may be subject to the third party’s terms, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions.

9. Service availability

We work to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may perform maintenance, modify features, or suspend the Service where reasonably necessary.

10. Disclaimers

Except as expressly stated, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Laketrout will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid to us for the Service in the three (3) months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Laketrout from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Data, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms or applicable law.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, fail to pay, or use the Service in a way that risks harm to us or others. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; we will make Your Data available for a reasonable period on request, after which it may be deleted.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date. Material changes may be communicated to customers directly. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The courts located in Ontario will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to any non-waivable rights you may have under consumer protection law.
